Students Live In Fear of Math


Hobbling on crutches, a Santa Monica College student barely manages to open the door to her Elementary Statistics classroom. She has come to class exclusively to pick up the take home test -- half bewildered, half exhausted, she gets up and asks to be excused to go back to the hospital. She is, after all, dealing with multiple fractures. “No-ah-oh!” screams the professor, in a tone reminiscent a petulant, 10-year-old child. Like a deer caught in headlights, the injured girl is once again terrified by this absurd teacher.

As any Starbucks lover probably noticed, what recently and obviously changed at Starbucks is the look of the cup. The well-known white and green logo that you were so used to has been replaced by the actually original white and brown logo. Now, what really changed at Starbucks is Howard Schultz coming back on board of the company.

Brush With Death Due To A Drunk Driver

On Sept. 23, 2006, I learned that when you’re spinning out of control, flying across asphalt, maybe at speeds nearing the triple digits, you cannot see around you. You can only look around at your immediate surroundings, and should you try to look out the window, you won’t be able to see anything—just a flush of gray, if you’re lucky.

Rush Limbaugh: Bring it On!

Perhaps one of the more interesting phenomenons to arise out of primaries is Rush Limbaugh’s “Operation Chaos,” his attempt to disrupt the Democratic nomination process by calling on his mostly conservative Republican listeners to vote in Republican primaries and vote for Hillary Clinton in order to retard Barack Obama’s momentum.
However, this unethical attack on a democratic process appears to have back-fired.

Global warming and the imminent threat that many major media sources claim it poses is a commonly misconstrued and misinterpreted subject. The reason behind these numerous misconceptions lies mainly in the entity that brought it into the limelight to begin with: the media. So, as a precursor to this discussion, may the premise be set that media outlets, being businesses just like any others, have specific goals and agendas to generate revenue by getting the public’s attention by any means possible.
